Tindersticks

at den Atelier Doors: 7:00 pm

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Tindersticks exist to create beauty out of heartbreak. They are the sound of late-night reflections, verbalising emotions. Their shuffling drums and mournful vocals conjuring up images of seaside towns in winter. It’s end-of-the-pier music for star-crossed lovers with nicotine-stained fingers. Tindersticks – lead by Stuart A. Staples – are one of the most original and distinctive British acts since the 90s, standing apart from the rash of Brit-pop guitar combos that dominate the UK charts. The result is a fine example of pop songcraft combined with the aesthetics of indie-rock, to the point that it became obligatory for any indie fan in the 1990s to name-check Tindersticks among their favourites. Check out the band’s fantastic latest release Falling Down A Mountain and expect a unique show bathed in atmosphere, romanticism and mal-de-siècle…
