ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Steve Hackett is renowned as an immensely talented and innovative rock musician. He was lead guitarist with Genesis as part of their classic line up with Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford, that produced acclaimed albums such as Selling England by the Pound. With Genesis, Steve’s guitar playing produced some of the most memorable moments, from the sensitivity of his acoustic sound on Horizons and Blood on the Rooftops to the dramatic rock guitar solos of Firth of Fifth and Fountain of Salmacis. Brian May of Queen has credited Steve Hackett as an early influence. Still today, Steve Hackett’s live electric gigs take his fans on an extraordinary journey drawn from a rich musical heritage. Perennial Genesis favourites such as the mighty Firth Of Fifth or Carpet Crawlers sit alongside solo classics and more recent material, such as the new album Wolflight featuring the single Love Song to a Vampire. Steve is an exhilarating artist still at the very top of his game. This show at the A is going to be a unique highlight to progressive rock fans.
Musicians playing with Steve for the Autumn tour will be Roger King, keyboards; Gary O’Toole, drums & percussion; Rob Townsend, saxes and flutes, Roine Stolt, bass & guitars; Nad Sylvan, vocals
