ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
After 11yrs of writing, producing and touring as part of Moloko, Róisín Murphy started to build her solo career. Ruby Blue was completed and released in summer 2005 and in 2007, the exciting album Overpowered hit the stores. A heady mix of electronic dance anthems, soul-stirring pop songs, deep, dark funk and quirky lyrical genius, Róisín Murphy’s Overpowered is a thrilling and contemporary marriage of edgy pop and irresistible disco. Overpowered is the place where pop meets dance and gives birth to a glitter-drenched masterpiece. This is one of the albums of the year – a breathtaking modern classic. And in her live shows, Róisín Murphy loves to include Moloko classics, such as Sing It Back! Róisín Murphy is one of the headliners of this year’s Rock Werchter festival – seize this opportunity at the Atelier though, in case you want to get really close…
