ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Over the course of 12 years and three albums, Enter Shikari have spewed heavily politicised, in-your-face rhetoric over an uncompromising blend of post-hardcore, metal and trance. It’s served them well. The St Albans four-piece’s fiery invective and intense live shows inspire devotion from fans, and that has seen them rise from Hertfordshire’s DIY underground to the Top Five of the UK albums charts. The new album pitches them exactly halfway between Rage Against the Machine and Skrillex: The Mindsweep is a great effort by Enter Shikari of moving into a newer sound, whether as a coordinated move away from a burnt-out dubstep trend or an honest show of growth. Frankly, it seems to be the latter – from the more meticulous synth-work and dynamic songwriting to the stronger messages in the lyrics, Enter Shikari are maturing and improving in all areas.
