It’s one of those typical punches above our weight again, we guess… The Smashing Pumpkins started as one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands of the 1990s. Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, James Iha and D’Arcy Wretzky became superstars by fashioning an amalgam of progressive rock, metal, goth, psychedelia and dream pop, creating a layered, powerful sound driven by swirling, distorted guitars. After a hiatus of six years, The Smashing Pumpkins have now reformed and will release their new album, Zeitgeist, early July.
