Playing from infancy and brought up in a musical family in Bombay, Trilok lives and breathes music as if it is a form of spiritual exercise. Trilok originally became well known to western audiences through his work with Don Cherry, Bill Laswell, John McLaughlin, Jan Garbareck and Pat Metheny. Recently he became the mentor to the British Asian Underground movement : ADF (Asian Dub Foundation), Talvin Singh a.o. His music is regularly sampled on the turntables of the hottest danceclubs in London. Yet he is best known for his work as a group leader and solo performer within the World Music field with his own blend of musics from around the globe.
